POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Clerk, you are the face of our business. You’re responsible for maintaining excellent service standards, including product suggestions, conducting sales transactions, and maintaining the store’s cleanliness and appeal. You will also support product stocking and rotation, as well as special merchandising / seasonal displays as required.

You will be aware of and abide by the laws and regulations concerning the sale of liquor, including ID checks, and will possess your Serving It Right certification. As a highly visible and customer-facing member of the team, you are guided by and live our company values: Be Real, Have Fun, Own It, and Grow With Us.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Provide customers with a professional and friendly service at all times
- Ensure customer-facing and storage / logistics areas of the business are clean and organized
- Conduct till transactions including cash and credit card sales in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Restock and rotate stock in accordance with standard operating procedures




- Ensure all transactions are in compliance with the Liquor Control Act and other applicable legislation
- Support a culture of continuous improvement through identifying opportunities for an improved staff and customer experience, including safety hazards

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Serving It Right Certification
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills and a desire to support a great guest experience
- Comfort with and accuracy in conducting sales transactions
- Able to follow instructions including standard operating procedures, with or without supervision
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the local neighbourhood (Crosstown) and the commitment to maintaining respectful, professional relationships with a diverse clientele

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Previous specialty retail experience
- Knowledge of products (wine, beer, spirits)
