Job Overview

This is not a production machining job. You’ll make one-off and small-quantity components that become part of custom automated machinery. You’ll work closely with the designers and builders, see the parts you’ve made become a machine, and have the opportunity to help solve problems when that machine is being assembled and tested.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, program, and maintain SWI TRAK CNC milling machines to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output, adherence to safety standards, and efficient production workflows.

Duties

- Set up and operate CNC SWI Trak Milling machines and standard machine lath, to produce complex parts according to technical specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to determine machining requirements.
- Program CNC equipment using G-code or other programming languages; troubleshoot and optimize CNC programs for efficiency and accuracy.




- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and inspections on CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct quality control checks using calipers, hand tools, and other measurement devices to verify dimensions and tolerances meet specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately; apply welding techniques when necessary for assembly or repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; assist with packaging finished products for shipment while adhering to safety protocols.

Skills

- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of SWI Trak milling machines, standard lathes..
- Experience with programmimg Trak Mills controls an asset. You will work with an operator with 20+ years experience on this equipmeng.
- We will train experienced machinists on the TRAK
- Ability to use hand tools, calipers, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
