About the Role:

LJ Welding Automation is seeking a CNC Machinist – Lathe Programmer / Set Up / Operator to join our Machining Department. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Mazak CNC lathes to produce high-precision components that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production targets.

This position is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented machinist who is comfortable working independently, takes pride in precision work, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Program, set up, and operate Mazak CNC lathe machines using Mazatrol programming
- Machine precision components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Load, secure, and stage raw materials and finished parts




- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as required to maintain quality
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
- Label and stage completed parts for the next operation
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
- Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures
- Participate in safety meetings and actively contribute to a strong safety culture

Desired Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of Mazatrol programming experience (required)
- Journeyperson Machinist certification (preferred)
- GibbsCAM experience (asset)
- Milling experience (asset)
- Robust attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Safety-conscious with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and expand programming and machine knowledge
