- The candidate will be responsible for supporting distribution automation, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and other grid modernization initiatives.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting program management activities, including planning, coordination, tracking, and reporting.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reporting on data from various sources and databases.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and data visualizations.
- The candidate will be responsible for preparing business and technical documents, reports, presentations, and communications materials.
- The candidate will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and innovation.

Job Requirements

- The candidate must be currently enrolled at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada and yet to graduate to qualify for the position.




- The candidate must be currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and have completed a minimum of second-year studies.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are in their third or fourth year of study.
- Candidates with previous co-op, internship, research, or other relevant work experience will be preferred.
- The candidate must have strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Candidates with experience using Power BI, SQL, Python, or other data analytics tools will be considered an asset.
- The candidate will be required to hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

- The candidate will be required to obtain background check clearance as a condition of employment at BC Hydro. This may include reference checks, education verification, employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and alcohol test.
- The candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment alcohol and drug testing as a condition of employment for this safety-sensitive position.

Work conditions





- The candidate will be required to work at the job location for the Co-op role and will be responsible for making relocation arrangements if necessary.
- The candidate will be assigned to one of four role types that determine the degree of flexibility available to work from home based on the type of work performed.
- The candidate will work in a Field role with no option to work from home.
- The candidate will work primarily in the office, typically 4 or more days per week.
- The candidate may be able to work from home for up to 3 days per week in a Hybrid role.
- The candidate will perform their work from home for 4 or more days per week under the Remote work model.
- The candidate will gain practical, hands-on experience directly related to their field of study.
- The candidate will gain exposure to utility operations and the evolving electric utility industry.
- The candidate will develop an understanding of current and emerging grid modernization technologies.
