- The candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and support to engineering teams.

Job Requirements

- The candidate must be enrolled in academic studies at a post-secondary institution in Canada and must be returning to school following completion of their work term with BC Hydro to qualify for a student Co-op opportunity.
- The candidate must have completed a minimum of 2nd year of Electrical Engineering Degree studies at an accredited university/college.
- Candidates with completed courses related to power systems will be preferred.
- The candidate should have familiarity with engineering drawings and wiring diagrams, which is considered an asset.
- The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- The candidate must have strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and be results oriented.
- The candidate may be required to have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License for certain roles.

Security and safety

- The candidate will be required to obtain background check clearance as a condition of employment at BC Hydro. This may include reference checks, education verification, employment verification,



criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and alcohol test.
- The candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment alcohol and drug testing as a condition of employment for this safety-sensitive position.

Work conditions

- The candidate will work mainly in the office but may participate in some field work.
- The candidate will be required to work at the job location for the Co-op role and will be responsible for making relocation arrangements if necessary.
- The candidate will be assigned to one of four role types that determine the degree of flexibility available to work from home based on the type of work performed.
- The candidate will work in a Field role with no option to work from home.
- The candidate will work primarily in the office, typically 4 or more days per week.
- The candidate may be able to work from home for up to 3 days per week in a Hybrid role.
- The candidate will perform their work from home for 4 or more days per week under the Remote work model.
- The candidate will gain practical, hands-on work experience directly related to their specific field of study.
