Community Manager
Spruce View Manor - Gibbons, Alberta
Position Type: Full – Time,
Hours Per Pay Period: 75.00
Hours of Work: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Job Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Community Manager is responsible for operational leadership of Spruce View Manor, a 43 room seniors’ supportive living community, and Pine Crest Gardens/Sunridge and Sunset Apartments, 26 suite seniors subsidized apartment community. Sites located in Gibbons and Bon Accord, Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and management of the day-to-day operations of assigned supportive living and apartment community.
- Attracting, developing, and engaging a team of housekeeping, food services, maintenance, and administrative professionals.
- Ensuring occupancy, financial targets, and Continuing Care standards compliance metrics are met.
- Actively markets the community, identifying marketing opportunities and contacting key stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with resident families, community stakeholders, and Assisted Living Alberta.
- Partners with Human Resources manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, workplace health and safety, staff development, performance management, and corrective action.
- Partners with Finance to prepare and manage operating and capital budgets.
- Fosters Homeland Housing’s mission, vision, and values.
- Ensures compliance with Continuing Care Accommodation Standards, OHS, and other applicable legislation and standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education, Training, and Experience
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in human services, gerontology, licensed practical nurse, or business administration preferred. However,
a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience working in a supportive living, hotel/hospitality, community service, and not-for-profit organization is an asset.
Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate skills/knowledge of Office 365.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- A high level of intellectual curiosity. Demonstrates strong judgment in the face of ambiguity.
- Ability to plan, organize and direct operations of assigned sites.
- Strong conflict resolution and team-building skills.
- Demonstrates empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors.

· Job Type: Full Time, Group Advantages and RRSP eligible.
· This position has become available due to an upcoming retirement.
· The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train and work alongside the current manager during the transition period, ensuring a smooth transfer of knowledge and responsibilities.
· 75 hours bi-weekly; 7.5-hour shift, Monday to Friday with the ability to take part in ‘on call’ rotation
· Wage rate as per Homeland Housing management wage scale

· The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Criminal Record Check, 90 days current
Pay: From $44.54 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Experience:
