Community Support Worker - Residential

Full time - 40 hours per week

$23.97 - $29.68 per hour

Waipa District, Waikato location

You will be supporting an active, energetic, young man in his 20’s who loves walking and getting out and about in his community. He leads a busy and active lifestyle, so we're looking for someone who can confidently keep up, participate in activities, and bring positive energy to each day. - Resilience to help people keep boundaries to ensure their safety
- Valuable at explaining and negotiating
- Ability to communicate effectively and supportively with family, colleagues and the person you support
- Ability and willingness to provide support and motivation with personal cares and daily living skills
- Excellent, clear, understandable verbal and written English is a pre-requisite to be considered for this role

The Ideal Candidate Will Have





- An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification- we can support you to achieve this while you work
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, and or mental health issues, and/or behaviours that can be challenging is desirable but not necessary
- Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people
- A full New Zealand driver's licence
- Able to pass a NZ police check
- The ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email

Requirements If you are a non-resident applying for this role you must meet the following INZ Level 3 skill requirements to be considered:

- Have worked in the care workforce for 3 years or more, or
- A relevant qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) — this must be at least a level 4 qualification for a role at skill level 3, or a diploma for a role at skill level 2.
