Didsbury is a town of approximately 5,185 located 80

kilometres north of Calgary, approximately half-way between Calgary and Red Deer and an hour’s drive to the Rockies. Didsbury offers small community living with big city amenities just a short drive away.

Didsbury is a family-focused community with four schools, a hospital, public library, and robust recreational facilities, including a two-surface arena,

five-lane swimming pool, four-sheet curling rink,

several ball diamonds, a skate park, and numerous playgrounds and pathways. The top industries in the community include agriculture, construction, real estate, professional services, and transportation.

The Town of Didsbury is currently accepting applications for a permanent full time Finance Officer located at the Main Office. Reporting to the Director of

Corporate Services, this position is one of three Finance

Officers responsible for taxation, utilities, cemetery administration, accounts payable, general accounts receivable, payroll input, accounting transactions, grant administration, bank reconciliations, journal entries,

financial reporting and budgeting, as well as customer service desk coverage as required.





The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, a friendly and outgoing approach to people,

takes initiative, and is analytical.

Hours: 35 hours per week; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Monday to Friday (with a 1 hour lunch break daily)

Permanent, Full-Time Finance Officer

WHAT THE TOWN OF DIDSBURY IS LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE:

Required

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting or

related field
- Good understanding of the Municipal Government Act

and Public Sector Accounting Standards.
- Clean Criminal Record check
