Shortek Edmonton Inc. is looking for dependable, hardworking Construction Labourers with carpentry or framing experience to join our team.

This is not a traditional residential framing position. We are looking for people with a carpentry/framing background because those skills transfer well to the type of work we perform. You will be working as part of our shoring and construction crews on commercial and industrial job sites.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties may include

- Installing wood lagging and shoring materials
- Measuring, cutting, fitting and handling lumber
- Using saws, drills, impact drivers and other power/hand tools
- Working with heavy timbers and construction materials
- Assisting with installation of shoring systems and soldier piles
- Working around excavations and heavy equipment
- Loading and unloading trucks and trailers
- Rigging and handling materials
- Assisting equipment operators and other crew members
- General site cleanup and organization
- Performing other construction labour duties as required

Who We’re Looking For We are particularly interested in applicants who have worked as carpenters, framers, carpenter helpers or construction labourers.

You should

- Be comfortable reading a tape measure and making accurate cuts
- Have experience using common construction power tools
- Be physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work




- Be comfortable working around heavy equipment and excavations
- Be dependable and show up ready to work
- Be able to follow instructions and work safely as part of a crew
- Be willing to work outdoors in varying Alberta weather conditions
- Have reliable transportation to work

Experience Carpentry or framing experience is strongly preferred.

We are more interested in practical construction experience, a strong work ethic and someone who knows how to safely use tools and work as part of a crew.

Experience:
- Framing carpentry: 2 years (preferred)
