Contract Conformance Specialist

We are recruiting for a Contract Conformance Specialist to support a major energy infrastructure expansion project. This is a one-year contract anticipated to begin in October 2026 or as soon as possible.

Location: Calgary or Edmonton, AB, followed by mobilization to a project site near Fort St. John, BC

Rate: $85.71/hour

Schedule: Initial two-month office-based training, followed by a field rotation based on project requirements

Hours: Approximately 12-hour days and 60 hours per week while in the field

LOA: $220 per workday when travelling more than 100 km one way from home to the worksite

Mileage: $0.74/km when travelling more than 100 km to the worksite, with an attached mileage log; rate is updated annually according to CRA guidelines

Safety Requirements: Drug and alcohol testing and a satisfactory driver’s abstract

Position Overview The Contract Conformance Specialist will oversee sourcing, contract formation, administration, and field conformance activities for a large capital project. This individual will work closely with project teams, supply chain, legal representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure contractual requirements are met and issues are addressed proactively.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare RFX documents and develop explicit RFP language, evaluation criteria, and contractual requirements.
- Manage RFP issuance, vendor inquiries, pre-bid meetings, bid evaluations, scoring, and award recommendations.
- Draft contract exhibits and technical contract language.




- Lead contract negotiations during the bidding and formation stages.
- Review contract documents and contractor deliverables for compliance with contractual terms, company policies, regulatory standards, and project governance requirements.
- Review contractor submissions and invoices and manage non-compliance and payment issues.
- Administer change orders, directives, requests, and associated logs.
- Maintain contract correspondence, documentation, meeting records, and retention systems.
- Provide contract conformance guidance and training to internal and third-party personnel.
- Coordinate contract close-out activities and support compliance audits.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding contractual risks, obligations, and issues.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction, law, or a related discipline.
- An associate degree may be considered with at least 10 years of experience managing major engineering and construction contracts.
- Strong experience with contract formation, field contract administration, sourcing, RFPs, negotiations, and contractor compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and administer complex contractual terms and conditions.
- Experience supporting large-scale capital, energy, pipeline, or construction projects.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Oracle, and SharePoint.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
