Contractually Limited Appointment

The Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University is accepting applications for one full-time faculty member in the contractually limited appointment category at the Assistant Professor rank. We seek an emerging scholar with expertise in evidence-informed health care and health services research, particularly in the areas implementation and evaluation of health interventions, and the translation of evidence into practice and policy. We are especially interested in candidates whose research addresses health inequities and the social, structural, behavioural, and biomedical determinants of health, and who use innovative, community-engaged and interdisciplinary approaches to develop and evaluate interventions that improve health outcomes and access to effective care. The successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching and providing mentorship to graduate students in the Department’s educational programs. This is a three-year appointment, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2027.

Qualifications:

- A PhD in health research methodology or a related field
- An externally funded award providing salary support
- A research portfolio in evidence-informed health care and health services research with a focus on implementation science and health equity
- Experience and skills in coordinating large projects and interdisciplinary research teams
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching in a range of learning contexts including online synchronous and asynchronous structures, and in-person classroom.
- Ability to contribute to research, evaluation, and scholarship, including prior success in obtaining research funding
- Solid knowledge translation skills and demonstrated in community-engaged research
- Experience supervising and mentoring graduate students is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills are required
