Looking for a Full Time Cook to compliment our dietary team. Mondays to Fridays and every second weekend.

This role reports to the Food and Service Manager. The cook is responsible for ensuring that meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment

Key Responsibilities includes

- Prepare and cook daily meals according to planned menus and recipes.
- Prepare meals that meet residents’ dietary requirements, allergies, and special needs.
- Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served safely and according to applicable food-safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food-preparation areas.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
- Assist with meal preparation for special events and resident activities when required.
- Work cooperatively with kitchen staff,



caregivers, and management.
- Maintain accurate food inventory and notify management when supplies are needed.
- Provide respectful and friendly service to residents.

Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a cook
- Grade 12 diploma
- Experience working in a Retirement Home setting is an asset
- Relevant culinary certification or institutional cooking experience
- A current provincial Secure Food Handling Certificate is also required

The successful candidate must possess strong leadership skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to the well-being of our residents Please note that a Vulnerable Persons Check is mandatory

Salary to be determined based on experience.
