Traditional Hardwood Flooring Ltd. is an award-winning, NWFA-certified, and Bona-certified industry leader serving the Greater Toronto Area since 2002. We specialize in high-end, custom hardwood installations, architectural millwork, and high-precision fabrication.

While we are masters of flooring, we also run an advanced in-house fabrication shop where we create custom stair steps, nosings, built-in electrical covers, and our premium line of custom HVAC grill vents. We are currently seeking an autonomous, highly skilled Custom CNC Programmer & Fabricator to join our production team.

Note: We are looking for an experienced professional who can own the process from design to delivery. We are not looking for apprentices, helpers, or basic button-pushers.

The Role In this position, you will be the technical anchor for our custom component manufacturing—specifically focusing on our high-end line of custom wooden HVAC vents with integrated metal backings. You will take rough sketches, customer concepts, or site measurements, translate them into flawless digital files, program the machinery, and oversee the physical fabrication and clean assembly.

Key Responsibilities

● CAD Design & Layout: Translate hand-drawn customer sketches, blueprints, and rough concepts into clean, precise 2D/2.5D vector designs using Vectric VCarve Pro.

● CAM Programming: Set up toolpaths, choose appropriate tooling, calculate exact feeds/speeds, and optimize material yield using True Shape Nesting for premium hardwoods (Oak, Walnut, Maple).

● Multi-Material Fabrication: Safely and accurately operate our CNC router to machine both solid hardwoods and thin-gauge metal backings.

● Assembly & Quality Control:



Perform double-sided machining flips, manage tight tolerances so metal backings fit perfectly flush into wood pockets, and test assemblies for absolute structural integrity and a seamless aesthetic finish.

● Machine Maintenance: Manage shop tooling inventory, monitor bit wear, and perform routine CNC calibration.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of autonomous CNC programming and operation in a professional millwork, custom furniture, or high-end shop environment.

● Software Mastery: Highly proficient in Vectric VCarve Pro (or Aspire / Fusion 360). Must understand advanced nesting, pocketing, layers, and template management.

● Material Knowledge: Deep understanding of chip loads, spindle speeds, and feed rates for both premium hardwoods and light metals (aluminum/steel sheets).

● Independence: Ability to work completely unsupervised, troubleshoot file errors, and maintain strict quality standards under tight deadlines.
