Maternity Leave Position | Starting ASAP

South Coast Dental Care is looking for a friendly, dependable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team for a maternity leave position through approximately September 2027. This position has the potential to lead to permanent employment.

We are a busy, established and patient-focused dental practice where teamwork, kindness and high-quality care are genuinely valued. This position offers a consistent Monday-to-Thursday schedule with no evenings or weekends.

Position Details

- Monday to Thursday
- No evenings or weekends
- Starting as soon as possible
- Contract through approximately September 2027
- Potential for permanent employment following the initial contract

Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during a variety of general dental procedures
- Prepare operatories, instruments and materials for treatment
- Take digital radiographs
- Follow current sterilization and IPAC protocols
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Assist with impressions, laboratory work and other clinical duties
- Help keep the clinical day organized and running smoothly
- Provide warm,



compassionate care to our patients
- Work collaboratively with the dentist, hygienists and administrative team

What We’re Looking For
- Level II Dental Assistant certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures
- Dependable, organized and able to anticipate the dentist’s needs
- Friendly and professional, with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working in a busy general dental practice
- Previous dental assisting experience is an asset; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Experience with ClearDent is an asset
