Role Description This is a full-time, in office Dental Hygienist role based in Calgary, AB.

The Dental

Hygist will perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, and will assist in the prevention and management of periodontal disease through thorough assessments and patient education. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, taking and recording dental charting, supporting dentists during comprehensive treatments, and reinforcing proper oral hygiene techniques. The role involves collaborating closely with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience, maintaining accurate clinical records, upholding infection control standards, and contributing to a supportive,



family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong clinical skills in dentistry and dental care, including comprehensive oral assessments and patient-centered treatment support.
- Candidates should possess expertise in hygiene and dental prophylaxis, with the ability to perform routine cleanings, scaling, and polishing safely and effectively.
- Candidates should possess skills related to the prevention, identification, and management of periodontal disease, including patient education and ongoing monitoring.
- Valid registration or licensure as a Dental Hygienist in Alberta, and graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, dental radiography, and electronic charting systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support patients of all ages in a respectful, inclusive manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical setting and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a family or general dentistry practice is an asset; familiarity with sedation dentistry and orthodontic or cosmetic procedures is beneficial.
