Director, Learning & Development

Are you passionate about helping people grow and succeed at work? As the Director, Learning & Development at WFCU, you’ll shape how employees build skills, develop leaders and grow their careers. Leading a small team, you’ll create and deliver learning programs that give employees the tools, training and support they need to perform at their best and contribute to WFCU’s success.

Position Type: Vacant Position

Salary Range: $102,000 - $152,000

What You’ll Do:

- Assess organizational learning needs and determine the best approach;—develop and facilitate internal workshops, hands-on activities, and team-building sessions, or recommend appropriate external training providers when specialized expertise is required.
- Develop and implement a learning and leadership development plan aligned with WFCU’s strategic priorities and evolving workforce needs.
- Lead the employee development team while overseeing multiple learning initiatives. Set priorities, keep programs on track, and ensure the portfolio remains aligned with the credit union’s needs and WFCU’s strategy.
- Oversee the new employee orientation program ensuring it delivers an exceptional learning experience.
- Partner with employees and leaders to identify growth opportunities opportunities and support meaningful career development within WFCU.
- Ensure all training materials are current, relevant, and easy to follow.
- Define learning metrics, report on program results, emerging trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Assess and evaluate our learning management system capabilities to ensure it meets programming and operational needs.
- Help plan and monitor the training budget.

What We’re Looking For:

- A degree in human resources, education, or a similar business-related field.
- A certification in talent development (like ATD CPTD/CPLP).
- At least 8 years of corporate experience helping organizations grow and develop their people.




- Experience designing and delivering corporate learning programs using adult-learning principles and blended approaches that combine online and in-person instruction.
- A strong background in leadership development, planning for future leaders within organizations, and corporate coaching.
- Hands on experienc using learning management systems and analyzing data.
- Curiosity about new technology and using it to create better learning engagement & outcomes.
- Great skills leading workshops, coaching, and communicating with others.
- Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to influence decisions and align stakeholders around organizational priorities. Good business sense and a proven ability to influence decisions.
- Willingness to travel within Ontario.

Nice to Have:

- Experience in the credit union or financial services industry.
- Technical skills for creating training content.
