Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young children, fostering their growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children, including those with disabilities.

As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will work closely with lead educators to implement engaging activities that promote learning and social skills.

Duties

- Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational activities and programs.
- Support the lead teacher in managing classroom dynamics and maintaining a positive learning setting.
- Provide individualized attention to children, ensuring their needs are met, especially for those with disabilities.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social and emotional development.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and other activities to ensure safety and engagement.




- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and learning materials.

Qualifications

- Previous classroom experience or relevant training in early childhood education is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A background in teaching or caregiving is beneficial.
- A genuine love for working with children and supporting their development.

- A current Police Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (Within 6 months)
- A valid Standard First Aid Certificate and current Infant/Child CPR Certificate
- A copy of completion of the Food Handlers certification
- ECE LEVEL 1 preferably in PEI

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
