About the Opportunity

AfterQuery is seeking experienced Behavioral Economist Experts to create and refine behavioral economics challenges for advanced AI training and evaluation projects. In this remote and flexible role, selected experts will design and evaluate scenarios that test AI systems on their ability to interpret and apply behavioral economics principles to real-world decision-making.

The work focuses on cognitive biases, decision-making, choice architecture, behavioral interventions, and empirical analysis. Your expertise will help evaluate whether AI models can reason about human behavior and economic choices with analytical precision and alignment with established behavioral economics research.

Responsibilities

- Develop high-quality behavioral economics questions, scenarios, and case studies covering topics such as cognitive biases, heuristics, prospect theory, loss aversion, framing effects, choice architecture, nudge design, and experimental design.
- Create challenges that assess AI models' understanding and application of behavioral economics theories and empirical methods.
- Evaluate and validate AI-generated responses for conceptual accuracy, analytical quality, and consistency with behavioral economics research.
- Provide detailed feedback identifying incorrect assumptions, flawed reasoning, methodological issues, or unsupported conclusions.
- Apply behavioral economics research and empirical methods when reviewing AI-generated content.




- Collaborate with behavioral science and technical experts to refine question difficulty and assessment quality.
- Help ensure behavioral economics content is both challenging and educational.

Required Qualifications

- Master's or PhD degree in Economics, Behavioral Economics, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in behavioral economics research, experimental design, or applied behavioral science.
- Strong understanding of behavioral theories, empirical methods, and evidence-based behavioral analysis.
- Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate complex behavioral economics concepts accurately.
- Ability to independently analyze behavioral scenarios and explain conclusions using established research principles.

Preferred Qualifications

- Multiple years of professional or academic experience in behavioral economics or behavioral science.
- Experience across diverse applications, including:
- Academic research
- Policy design
- Corporate consulting
- Product design
- Behavioral interventions
- Experience contributing to behavioral economics publications, experimental studies, or behavioral science initiatives.
- Experience with nudge design, choice architecture, A/B testing, or behavioral interventions.
- Familiarity with AI-driven or technology-enabled behavioral applications.




- Experience developing educational, assessment, research, or analytical content.
