We are looking for an experienced elementary school math tutor to provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring for a Grade 2 student.

Responsibilities:

- Provide one or two hours of tutoring per week, with a adaptable schedule.
- Focus on developing the student's mathematical problem-solving skills, particularly in word problems.
- Help the student understand questions, analyze problems, develop mathematical reasoning, and apply effective problem-solving strategies.
- Use targeted exercises to strengthen the student's independent thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements:

- Must reside in Montreal's West Island and be available for in-person tutoring.
- Experience teaching or tutoring elementary school mathematics.




- Experience preparing students for the Math Kangaroo Competition is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Canadian or Quebec elementary school math curriculum is an asset.
- Patient and skilled at encouraging children to think independently rather than simply teaching calculation methods.

Location: Montreal West Island Schedule: Once or twice a week, one hour per session

Compensation: Negotiable
