The Role The old way of email marketing was treating "strategy" as a content calendar. We're creating a culture of performance where every channel, every role, owns a number that propels us toward our client's goals: growth. Retention is one of the first places we're putting that into practice and as our Retention Strategist, you'd help lead that shift.

You'll take a client's business goal, walk it back into an email and SMS plan, and tell us how much revenue each send will drive before it goes out. Then you own the result.

You guide the copy and design your plan needs to succeed and manage our Email Analyst. You'll be supported by a designer, conversion copywriter, and a builder, so your time goes to strategy, forecasting, and client results.

What You'll Do

- Own email and SMS strategy for a variety of US DTC accounts. You know each customer cohort inside and out: who needs what message, and when, to drive the next purchase

- Build the revenue plan: flows as the foundation, campaigns as the growth lever, with a forecast for every send

- Design moment playbooks off the marketing calendar (launches, sales, restocks), setting send count, timing, and audience for each

- Layer engagement and lifecycle segmentation so the right message reaches the right person





- Run a testing program built on hypotheses that move the program forward, pulled from our test bank and recorded in our test log

- Write clear, templated briefs from our email bank for copy and design, and manage clarifications through to a finished send

- Manage our Email Analyst: reporting, tag hygiene, and pulling the numbers that back your forecasts

- Present email performance on client calls every other week: what's working, what isn't, and what happens next

- When something's blocking progress, come with a proposed fix and keep it moving

How You'll Be Measured

- Forecast accuracy on every calendar
- Time to purchase, AOV, and repeat purchase velocity across your accounts
- Attribution on a 3-day click window with no credit for opens. We move fully away from open-based attribution on January 1, 2027

Who You Are

- You have 5+ years in ecommerce email or lifecycle, agency or in-house DTC, with hands-on Klaviyo experience

- You've built a forecast-to-send plan and can show the math

- You're systems-minded: playbooks, templates, and briefs are how you work

- You're a problem solver. When a client pushes back, you find a way to keep things moving, and you think about what scales, not just what helps you

- You're commercially aware and can explain why a test or send matters to the business

- You communicate clearly about what worked, what didn't, and why

- You're comfortable on US client calls. Canadian time zones line up with our clients' business hours

This is not the role if you want to only execute, you need a lot of direction, or you believe client nuance ends the conversation.
