About Axis BC

Axis BC is a North Vancouver-based commercial building envelope contractor. We do waterproofing, membrane restoration, rope access repairs, leak investigations and building envelope inspections for strata corporations, property managers and commercial clients across the Lower Mainland. We're a small, growing company with a hands-on ownership team, and we're adding a dedicated estimator so our field leads can stay in the field and our quotes go out faster and more consistently.

What you'll do

- Own the estimating desk: take incoming requests from property managers, stratas, GCs and consultants and turn them into clear, priced quotes
- Attend site walks to scope the work (roofs, decks, parkades, plaza slabs, below-grade walls, exterior walls and sealant joints) and take measurements, photos and notes
- Prepare quantity takeoffs from site measurements, drawings and consultant specifications
- Price labour, materials, equipment (swing stage, rope access, scaffold), disposal and subtrades using our estimating templates
- Source and confirm material pricing from suppliers (Sika, Soprema, Tremco, Cemprotec and similar systems)
- Write scope-of-work descriptions that a property manager can understand and a crew can build from
- Build quotes in Jobber and send them out; follow up on open quotes and track win/loss
- Respond to tenders, RFQs and prequalification packages, including schedules of values and unit rates
- Hand off awarded jobs to the field lead with a explicit budget, scope and materials list
- Compare estimated vs. actual hours and costs on completed jobs and feed lessons back into our pricing

What we're looking for

- 3 to 5 years of estimating experience in building envelope, waterproofing, roofing, restoration or a closely related trade




- You can read architectural drawings, details and consultant specs, and you know how a waterproofing assembly goes together
- Comfortable on a roof or in a parkade with a tape, a laser and a camera
- Solid with Excel and able to learn our quoting software quickly (Jobber, or similar such as Buildertrend, Procore or Bluebeam)
- Clear, plain-English writing. Our quotes go to property managers and strata councils, not just contractors
- Organized and self-directed; you can juggle multiple open quotes and hit deadlines without someone standing over you
- Valid BC driver's licence and reliable vehicle for site visits (mileage paid)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and living in the Lower Mainland

Nice to have: hands-on trade background in waterproofing or roofing; familiarity with BC strata work and consultant-led projects; rope access (IRATA/SPRAT) or fall-protection training; experience with unit-rate maintenance programs.

What we offer

- $35 to $45 per hour depending on experience, paid on payroll (not a contractor position)
- Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday
