Field Service Technician (Exteriors)

Shield Exteriors is expanding, and we're looking for experienced Field Service Technicians who take pride in quality workmanship and can work independently in a quick-paced environment.

This role is best suited for someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of their work from start to finish. For the right candidate, this position is a stepping stone into a Project Manager role as our company continues to grow.

What You'll Be Doing

- Completing exterior service and repair work on residential homes
- Working on:
- Roofing
- Vinyl siding and Hardie board
- Eavestroughing and fascia
- Windows/screens
- Door installations
- Painting and general exterior repairs
- Identifying and completing deficiency repairs
- Helping clean up and finalize jobs to ensure they're completed to standard
- Supporting Production Managers with ongoing service work
- Maintaining clean, safe, and organized job sites
- Delivering strong customer service on every job

What We're Looking For

- Minimum 3 years' experience in roofing or exterior construction




- Strong carpentry skills required
- Solid understanding of exterior building systems and installation practices
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable using smartphones and job management tools
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities when needed
- Leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset

Requirements

- Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean driving abstract
- Physically capable of demanding field work:
- Lifting up to 35 kg
- Working at heights and climbing ladders
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Fall arrest and First Aid/CPR certification (asset)
