Sooke is a picturesque, ocean-front, semi-rural community on the west coast of Vancouver Island, approximately 40 minutes from Victoria. As a part of a temperate rainforest, Sooke enjoys one of the most mild climates in Canada. The town is known for it's vibrant arts community, extensive parks and hiking trails--including the well known West Coast and Juan de Fuca trails--world-class salmon and halibut fishing, and year-round outdoor recreation opportunities, including mountain biking, kayaking, and surfing.
