FIELD INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN – HEAVY-DUTY DIESEL SYSTEMS

ABOUT THE ROLE

ESSNA is seeking an experienced Field Installation Technician to install and commission H59-D hydrogen-assist systems on heavy-duty diesel equipment.

This hands-on role combines mechanical installation, 12/24V electrical work, hose and fitting installation, diesel diagnostics, system commissioning and customer-site documentation. Training on the H59-D system and its installation procedures will be provided.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently at customer locations while following defined safety, testing and approval procedures.

- How many years of heavy-duty diesel, truck or heavy-equipment experience do you have?
- Do you have hands-on experience with 12/24V mobile electrical systems?
- Have you installed hoses, fittings or components used in a pressure-carrying system?
- Do you have experience reading engine fault codes or working with ECM diagnostic tools?
- Do you have experience with CAN bus, telemetry or fleet-monitoring systems?
- Are you available to work at customer sites in Dallas–Fort Worth, including Little Elm?
- Do you have a valid driver’s licence?
- Please briefly describe a mechanical or electrical system you have installed and commissioned in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect the equipment and confirm site readiness before beginning work
- Review existing engine fault codes and baseline operating data
- Install system components, mounting brackets and related hardware
- Install and secure hydrogen hoses, fittings and injection nozzles
- Route components safely around heat, vibration and moving equipment




- Complete 12/24V electrical wiring and control-module installation
- Connect and verify telemetry and system communications
- Torque mounting hardware and verify all mechanical connections
- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection and fitting inspections
- Confirm check-valve operation, flow direction and emergency shutoff operation
- Start and commission the installed system
- Confirm hydrogen generation, flow and stable blending operation
- Check engine idle stability, load response and general operation
- Confirm that the installation has not introduced new fault codes or engine derates
- Assist with road or load testing and performance-data collection
- Verify operating information including RPM, fuel rate and boost pressure
- Record component and equipment serial numbers
- Take clear photographs throughout the installation
- Complete installation checklists and closeout documentation
- Explain basic operating, safety and maintenance procedures to the customer
- Obtain the required technical and customer approvals before releasing the equipment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Practical experience servicing heavy-duty diesel trucks, construction equipment or industrial diesel engines
- Experience with 12/24V mobile electrical systems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and diagnose basic electrical faults
- Experience installing hoses, fittings, valves or other pressure-carrying components
- Ability to use standard mechanical and electrical diagnostic tools
- Strong understanding of safe work practices around heavy equipment




- Ability to follow detailed installation and commissioning procedures
- Careful documentation and troubleshooting skills
- Professional communication skills when working at customer sites
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to travel to customer sites within the Dallas–Fort Worth area

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Heavy-duty truck, diesel, equipment or field-service technician background
- Experience with Class 8 trucks or construction equipment
- Familiarity with Caterpillar or other heavy-duty engine-control systems
- Experience with ECM diagnostics, CAN bus, telematics or fleet-monitoring systems
- Experience installing alternative-fuel, emissions-reduction or fuel-efficiency systems
- Pressure-testing or leak-detection experience
- Experience commissioning newly installed equipment

COMPENSATION Competitive project or hourly rate based on qualifications and relevant experience. Final compensation, travel arrangements and scheduling will be confirmed before the assignment begins.
