The Opportunity à Forestry Summer Student - 2027
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a keen appetite to grow their Forestry career.
The Forestry Summer Student will be part of the larger Sinclar Group Woodlands team and maintain a focus on the operations in the Prince George, Vanderhoof and Fort St James regions. The Woodlands team includes Lakeland Mills in Prince George, Apollo Forest Products in Fort St. James and Nechako Lumber in Vanderhoof.
As the successful candidate,
you are always committed to safety; demonstrate a high level of integrity and the ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner. You will support fieldwork activities, assist with data collection and entry, and improve efficiency of ongoing projects during the high demand summer season.
Working under the supervision of professional forestry staff you will assist with:
Planning and Operations Department activities:
- Timber cruising checks and data collection.
- Support road layout and field checks of block roads, boundaries, and log quality assessments.
- Support block reconnaissance activities.
- Road inspections.
- Supporting Harvesting Supervisors in inspections.
- Completing data entry and preparing reports and documentation.
Consideration will be given to those who are currently enrolled in or graduating from a relevant post-secondary program with a focus in Forestry and who are working towards obtaining their professional designation. The expected start date for this position will be May 4, 2027.

The salary range for this student position is $4,480 - $5,645 monthly. Salary will be determined by the successful candidates experience and level of education completed.
