As a Leo Lighthouse tutor, you're more than just a tutor—you're a mentor. Helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and develop a love of learning is one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring. You'll work one-on-one with students, adapting your approach to their learning styles while benefiting from our marketing support.

This is a flexible part-time contract. Our tutors choose which students to accept and build their own weekly schedules. Tutors are matched to students based on expertise, location, and personality. Enjoy competitive pay, flexible hours, and a supportive teaching environment!

We proudly serve students throughout North York and Midtown Toronto. As a Leo Lighthouse Tutor, you can be relied upon to:

- Provide one-on-one private French tutoring for French Immersion students
- Travel to pre-screened students' homes in North York or Midtown Toronto
- Schedule consistent weekly tutoring appointments with students or their parents

Qualifications:

- Strong proficiency in French and English
- Tutoring or teaching experience with the Ontario French curriculum
- Ability to tutor Elementary French (Grades 1-8) or High School French (Grades 9-12)
- Experience supporting French Immersion students in reading and writing
- University/college student, graduate, postgraduate, French teacher, retired teacher, OCT candidate, translator, or a background in political science, English, or history
- Passion for helping students succeed

Successful candidates:

- Have some availability between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weeknights and weekends, as these are generally the times requested by clients
- Are willing to complete a criminal background check
- Have access to a personal vehicle for travel to students’ homes in North York

Nice to have:

- Experience supporting students with different learning needs (e.g., autism, ADHD)
- Enrolled in or completed a teacher education program (e.g., OCT) or French studies
