Job Title: Part time French Teacher for Two Children

Location: Bathurst and Glencairn area, Toronto, ON

Schedule: Wednesdays from 6:00–8:00 p.m.

We are looking for an experienced, patient, and enthusiastic French teacher to provide weekly French instruction and homework support to two children in Senior Kindergarten and Grade 1 French Immersion.

The ideal French teacher enjoys working with young children and can make learning structured, engaging, and enjoyable. Each session will include homework assistance, reading practice, review of school material, and additional French instruction.

Responsibilities:

- Help both children complete and understand their French homework
- Teach French reading, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and comprehension
- Build the children’s confidence in speaking and understanding French
- Read age-appropriate French books and discuss the stories with them
- Review concepts taught in their French Immersion classrooms
- Prepare structured and age-appropriate French learning activities when there is no homework
- Adapt lessons to each child’s age, learning level, and areas requiring improvement
- Keep both children focused, engaged,



and actively participating
- Provide parents with brief updates regarding the children’s progress

Required Qualifications:

- Previous experience teaching children
- Excellent spoken and written French
- Ability to teach two young children at different academic levels
- Patient, encouraging, organized, engaging, and dependable
- Consistent availability every Wednesday from 6:00–8:00 p.m.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Current or retired French teacher
- Experience teaching the Ontario French Immersion curriculum
- Education, teaching, or early-childhood education background
- Experience teaching kindergarten or primary-grade children
- References from previous teaching positions

This position is ideal for a current or retired French teacher or an education student with substantial experience teaching young children.
