We are currently looking for a full-time Sign Technician / Graphic Designer to join our experienced team!

The ideal applicant will have skills in digital sign design and vinyl application. Preference will be given to applicants with experience with Gerber Omega design software or other similar design programs, such as Adobe Illustrator and/or Corel software. Proficiency in general computer skills is a prerequisite.

The general work includes technical sign design, vinyl cutting/printing and various application/installation techniques. Future training opportunities with other types of sign work would be available; such as CNC routing, inkjet-printing, screen-printing and vehicle graphic installation. Wage would be based on previous relevant experience. Hours of work are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime. Group perks are available after 3 months.

Responsibilities

- Sign and graphic design
- Cutting, printing and applying vinyl graphics
- Preparing sign substrates for production using various hand or power tools
- Assisting the installation & prep team
- Following instructions from work orders, diagrams and supervisors
- Keeping track of inventory levels
- Ensuring that working area is clean and organized

Requirements





- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
- B.C. Certificate of Graduation or Grade 12 Graduation equivalent
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A strong proficiency with English spelling and grammar
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Ability to work in various conditions/environments (indoor or outdoor)
- Ability to work from heights

Preference will be given to those that have previous work experience in the sign industry, as well as the following:
- Experience with vinyl graphics and application
- Experience with inkjet printing, CNC routing or screen-printing
- Skilled with hand and power tools
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in order to meet deadline requirements

About Us Funk Signs Inc. is a commercial design and sign production company in Kamloops, BC. We produce a wide range of different sign products; such as vinyl decals, vehicle graphics, panel signs, dimensional letters, safety & industrial signs, plastic signs and banners.

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
