About the Role

Maxx Games Ottawa is looking for a responsible, energetic, and confident Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our busy kids’ entertainment facility.

This is a hands-on management position. Our facility can get extremely busy, particularly during birthday parties and special events, so we need someone who is comfortable taking charge, managing a team, working with teenagers, dealing with customers, and making sure the facility operates safely and efficiently.

The Manager is expected to lead by example and be actively involved in the operation, not simply supervise from the sidelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise, coach, and manage a team made up largely of teenage employees.
- Assign staff responsibilities and ensure everyone remains on task throughout their shift.
- Hold employees accountable for completing their assigned duties properly and on time.
- Manage high-traffic birthday parties and events, including coordinating staff, party timing, activities, food service, setup, cleanup, and guest flow.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to parents, children, party organizers, and other guests.
- Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints calmly and professionally.
- Operate our POS system, process transactions, collect payments, and ensure customer accounts and purchases are handled accurately.
- Verify party details, additional participants, food and beverage purchases, and other applicable charges.
- Maintain a safe environment for children and guests at all times.
- Ensure staff are actively supervising inflatables, activities, entrances, party areas, and other assigned stations.
- Enforce Maxx Games safety rules and facility policies consistently.
- Respond appropriately to injuries, incidents, behavioural issues, or other situations requiring management attention.




- Monitor the facility throughout the shift to ensure areas remain clean, organized, and ready for customers.
- Coordinate party transitions and make sure events remain on schedule during busy periods.
- Communicate clearly with staff so everyone understands their responsibilities and priorities.
- Complete opening and/or closing responsibilities when scheduled.
- Report significant customer, staffing, safety, or facility issues to ownership or senior management.

- Confident managing and giving direction to teenage employees.
- Friendly and professional when dealing with customers.
- Comfortable working in a loud, busy, fast-paced setting with large numbers of children and families.
- Able to stay organized and make decisions when several parties or issues are happening at the same time.
- Comfortable handling payments and learning a POS system.
- Able to communicate expectations clearly and respectfully.
- Safety-conscious and willing to enforce rules when necessary.
- Willing to step in and help wherever needed rather than simply delegating tasks.
- Available to work evenings and weekends, particularly during our busiest periods.

Management Expectations Our Managers set the tone for the entire shift. You are responsible for making sure staff are where they are supposed to be, customers are being looked after, parties are running on time, and children are enjoying themselves in a safe environment.

A successful Manager at Maxx Games should be able to walk into a busy facility with multiple parties happening at once, quickly understand what needs attention, organize the staff, solve problems, and keep the operation moving.

Most importantly, our Managers are expected to create a safe, fun, organized, and welcoming experience for every child and family who visits Maxx Games Ottawa.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
