Victor Learning Centre – Saskatoon, SK

Victor Learning Centre is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic High School English / ELA Teacher to join our teaching team. This position is ideal for an experienced educator who enjoys working with Grades 9–12 students and helping them strengthen their reading, writing, literary analysis, and academic communication skills.

Responsibilities

- Teach English Language Arts to students in Grades 9–12
- Support students with the Saskatchewan high school English curriculum
- Teach academic writing, essay structure, grammar, reading comprehension, and literary analysis
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for improvement
- Prepare lessons and learning materials based on individual student needs
- Provide clear and constructive feedback on writing assignments
- Help students improve critical thinking, communication, and academic writing skills
- Communicate student progress with the learning centre when needed
- Maintain a qualified, positive, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching certificate required
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience required
- Experience teaching high school English / English Language Arts preferred
- Familiarity with the Saskatchewan curriculum is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of academic writing, essay development, grammar, reading comprehension,



and literary analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, organized, patient, and comfortable working with teenagers

Position Details
- Job Type: Part-time
- Location: Saskatoon, SK
- Teaching Format: Primarily in-person, with possible online teaching opportunities
- Classes are mainly scheduled after school, during evenings, and on weekends
- Both one-on-one and small-group classes may be available
- Schedule is flexible and based on teacher availability and student enrollment
