The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the attraction, retention and development of the company’s human resources greatest asset, our people. By doing so, the Human Resources Generalist directly affects the overall competitiveness of our company in the pursuit and delivery of quality construction services.
The individual in this position will work in collaboration with all other areas of the company to instill employee satisfaction, maximize organizational effectiveness and minimize risk.
Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, this position is responsible for the following:
Complete Recruitment cycle from preparing job descriptions, placing postings, interviewing, assisting with selection of candidates, and finalizing offers.
- Maintain a database of current manpower and allocate the manpower as jobs require
- Identification and scheduling of required training and pre-job preparation (ie. Testing, logistics including travel, accommodation) for new and existing employees.
- Working with your internal customers (ie. colleagues on-site, Safety Officer, Site Superintendents) and in the office to solve problems and meet tight deadlines. This may include payroll support, layoff procedures, training requirements
- Update training documentation like new employee orientation packages to ensure compliance with legislative requirements
- Administering company policies such as the Drug and Alcohol Policy and the Harassment Policy.
- Ongoing awareness of human resource development within the company, including keeping current with training opportunities available for the continued growth of our human resources.
- Keeping current and knowledgeable of compensation strategies (ie. wage structures, incentive programs, benefit packages) that allow the company to attract and retain a high level of expertise in a very competitive industry.
- Liaison with outside agencies including Workers Compensation, Saskatchewan Labour, and Occupational Health and Safety.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Applicants must have some post secondary education in a relevant field (ie. management, human resources, business administration). Or 3 years experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of the construction industry is a definite asset.

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
