Import Assistant with a focus on the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR)

Full Time

Language: English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)

Key Duties:

o Assist in maintaining and executing the company’s written Preventative Control Plan (PCP), which outlines hazards, sanitation, pest control, recall procedures, and supplier food safety controls.

o Gather documentation from foreign manufacturers to prove their processes align with Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) hazard analysis principles.

o Maintain traceability records for all imported food items. Organizing, updating, and retrieving physical and digital files.

o Help investigate non-compliance issues (e.g., mislabeling, missing allergen declarations, temperature abuse) and assist in implementing Corrective Action Reports (CARs).

o Assist in designing and reviewing product labels to ensure they comply with SFCR standards,





o Inspect incoming products, take photos and maintain records o Provide product information to sales team and issue documents to customers

Qualifications & Skills:

o Working knowledge of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) guidelines, SFCR compliance o Experience within the food import and distribution industry o Valuable communication Skills o Attention to Detail o Computer Skills o Can work under pressure

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
