SurgicalWay est une entreprise canadienne spécialisée dans l’accompagnement de patients ayant recours à la chirurgie orthopédique privée.

Nous accompagnons nos patients à chaque étape de leur parcours, de la préparation préopératoire jusqu’au suivi postopératoire, en collaboration avec des chirurgiens spécialisés et des centres chirurgicaux privés.

Dans le cadre de notre croissance, nous recherchons un(e) infirmier(ère) expérimenté(e), polyvalent(e), autonome et humain(e) pour rejoindre notre équipe.

Le poste

Il s’agit d’un rôle infirmier polyvalent combinant expertise clinique, coordination des patients, communication et responsabilités administratives.

Une journée peut comprendre la préparation d’un patient pour sa chirurgie, le suivi d’un patient récemment opéré, la coordination avec un chirurgien ou un centre chirurgical, la révision d’un dossier médical ou certaines tâches administratives nécessaires au bon déroulement du parcours patient.

Nous recherchons une personne capable de devenir une véritable référence pour les patients et pour l’équipe, tout en travaillant avec beaucoup d’autonomie.

Responsabilités principales

Préopératoire

- Accompagner les patients dans leur préparation à la chirurgie.
- Réviser les dossiers médicaux et s’assurer que la documentation requise est complète.
- Coordonner les examens, analyses, imageries et autres éléments préopératoires.
- Communiquer les instructions préopératoires et s’assurer de leur bonne compréhension.
- Collaborer avec les chirurgiens, cliniques et centres chirurgicaux.
- Identifier rapidement les éléments nécessitant l’attention du chirurgien.

Postopératoire

- Effectuer les suivis auprès des patients après leur chirurgie.
- Être disponible pour répondre rapidement aux questions et préoccupations des patients durant leur récupération.
- Évaluer l’évolution postopératoire et répondre aux questions des patients dans les limites du rôle infirmier.
- Reconnaître les signes ou symptômes nécessitant une attention médicale supplémentaire et assurer rapidement le suivi avec le professionnel approprié.
- Communiquer les instructions postopératoires et accompagner les patients dans leur rétablissement.
- Participer à la coordination des suivis médicaux, de la physiothérapie et des autres services nécessaires.

Coordination et administration

- Maintenir et mettre à jour les dossiers patients.
- Gérer et assurer le suivi de la documentation médicale.
- Coordonner les communications entre les patients, chirurgiens et autres intervenants.
- Effectuer les demandes et suivis de rapports, dossiers ou imageries médicales.
- Assurer le suivi des formulaires et documents préopératoires et postopératoires.
- Participer à l’amélioration des procédures internes.
- Soutenir l’équipe dans différentes tâches opérationnelles lorsque nécessaire.

La communication avec les patients représente également une partie importante du rôle. Nous recherchons quelqu’un capable d’expliquer clairement les étapes du parcours chirurgical, de répondre aux préoccupations des patients et d’établir rapidement un climat de confiance.

Profil recherché

- Membre en règle de l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ).
- Minimum de 5 années d’expérience comme infirmier(ère).
- Expérience en milieu chirurgical ou auprès de patients chirurgicaux.
- Expérience en orthopédie, chirurgie orthopédique, préopératoire ou postopératoire fortement préférée.




- Excellent jugement clinique.
- Grande autonomie et capacité à prendre des initiatives.
- Excellentes capacités organisationnelles.
- Capacité à gérer plusieurs dossiers simultanément.
- Très bonnes aptitudes relationnelles et grande empathie envers les patients.
- Aisance avec les outils informatiques et les dossiers numériques.
- Personne débrouillarde, fiable, rigoureuse et orientée solutions.

Bilinguisme essentiel Une excellente maîtrise du français et de l’anglais est essentielle.

La personne doit donc être parfaitement à l’aise de communiquer avec des patients anglophones au sujet de leur chirurgie, de leur préparation et de leur récupération.

Un excellent niveau d’anglais parlé est requis.

Horaire et environnement de travail

- Poste à temps plein.
- Horaire principalement traditionnel du lundi au vendredi.
- Travail hybride, avec une présence au bureau variable selon les besoins.
- Une certaine flexibilité est requise occasionnellement en dehors des heures normales lorsqu’un patient postopératoire nécessite une réponse ou un suivi.

Il ne s’agit pas d’une disponibilité constante sur appel, mais nous recherchons quelqu’un qui comprend que l’accompagnement de patients chirurgicaux peut parfois nécessiter une intervention ponctuelle en dehors des heures habituelles.

The Role

This is a versatile nursing role combining clinical expertise, patient coordination, communication, and administrative responsibilities.

A typical day may include preparing a patient for surgery, following up with a recently operated patient, coordinating with a surgeon or surgical centre, reviewing a medical file, or completing administrative tasks necessary to ensure a smooth patient journey.

We are looking for someone who can become a trusted point of reference for both our patients and our team while working with a high degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

Preoperative Care

- Support patients throughout their preparation for surgery.
- Review medical files and ensure all required documentation is complete.
- Coordinate examinations, laboratory testing, imaging, and other preoperative requirements.




- Communicate preoperative instructions and ensure patients understand them clearly.
- Collaborate with surgeons, clinics, and surgical centres.
- Quickly identify any issues requiring the surgeon’s attention.

Postoperative Care

- Follow up with patients after surgery.
- Be available to respond promptly to patients’ questions and concerns during their recovery.
- Assess postoperative progress and answer patient questions within the scope of nursing practice.
- Recognize signs or symptoms requiring additional medical attention and promptly coordinate follow-up with the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Communicate postoperative instructions and support patients throughout their recovery.
- Participate in coordinating medical follow-ups, physiotherapy, and other required services.

Coordination and Administration

- Maintain and update patient files.
- Manage and follow up on medical documentation.
- Coordinate communication between patients, surgeons, and other healthcare providers.
- Request and follow up on medical reports, records, and imaging.
- Ensure follow-up of preoperative and postoperative forms and documentation.
- Participate in improving internal procedures.
- Support the team with various operational tasks when required.

Communication with patients is also an important part of this role. We are looking for someone who can clearly explain the different stages of the surgical journey, respond to patients’ concerns, and quickly establish a relationship of trust.

Candidate Profile

- Member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ).
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
- Experience in a surgical environment or working with surgical patients.
- Experience in orthopedics, orthopedic surgery, preoperative care, or postoperative care is strongly preferred.
- Excellent clinical judgment.
- High degree of autonomy and ability to take initiative.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple patient files simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of empathy toward patients.
- Comfortable using digital tools and electronic patient records.
- Resourceful, reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.

Bilingualism Required Excellent proficiency in both French and English is essential.

The successful candidate must be fully comfortable communicating with English-speaking patients regarding their surgery, preparation, and recovery.

An excellent level of spoken English is required.

Schedule and Work Workplace

- Full-time position.
- Primarily traditional Monday-to-Friday schedule.
- Hybrid work environment, with in-office presence varying depending on operational needs.
- Some flexibility is occasionally required outside normal working hours when a postoperative patient requires a response or follow-up.

This is not a constant on-call position, but we are looking for someone who understands that supporting surgical patients may occasionally require intervention outside regular working hours.
