Interior Design & Project Coordinator

Residential Renovations | Part time, 20–30 Hours/Week | Richmond Hill / GTA

$22–$26/hour, based on experience

RenoShark is a growing residential renovation company serving homeowners across the GTA. We specialize in creating beautiful, thoughtfully designed spaces while delivering an organized, transparent and genuinely exceptional renovation experience.

We're looking for a creative, highly organized and ambitious Interior Design & Project Coordinator to join our team.

This is a hybrid role for someone who loves both the creative and operational sides of residential design. One day you may be designing a bathroom and helping a client select tile; another, you may be sourcing lighting, following up on an outstanding decision or making sure an upcoming project has everything it needs to stay on schedule via email.

You'll work directly with our clients throughout their renovation journey—helping them envision their space, make confident design decisions and navigate the many details involved in bringing that vision to life.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just wait for a task list. We want someone who takes ownership, solves problems and genuinely cares about creating beautiful spaces and an exceptional client experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

Design & Client Experience

- Designing residential spaces including bathrooms, kitchens, basements and other interior spaces
- Consulting directly with clients to understand their needs, preferences, lifestyle and design vision
- Guiding clients through decisions involving tile, cabinetry, countertops, paint, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware and other finishes
- Accompanying clients to suppliers and showrooms for product and material selections
- Sourcing products and presenting thoughtful recommendations that balance aesthetics, functionality, budget and availability
- Helping clients make confident decisions when they're overwhelmed by options
- Communicating design decisions and specifications clearly to the project team
- Supporting space planning and other design documentation
- Creating or assisting with CAD drawings if experience allows

Project Coordination & Administration

- Supporting projects from initial inquiry, to signed contract, through project completion
- Managing client communications and ensuring clients feel informed and well cared for throughout their renovation
- Tracking project deadlines, selections, outstanding decisions and deliverables
- Preparing and sending invoices and other project documentation
- Coordinating appointments, suppliers, deliveries and project-related logistics
- Communicating with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times
- Maintaining accurate project information within our project-management systems
- Proactively following up with clients, suppliers and team members




- Identifying potential issues before they become problems and helping determine solutions
- Supporting the RenoShark team with administrative and operational needs as required

You're someone who can see the creative possibilities in a space and appreciates the details required to actually make that design happen. You have an eye for design, enjoy working directly with homeowners and can guide someone through a showroom without making an already-overwhelmed client feel more overwhelmed.

At the same time, you're naturally organized. You notice details other people miss, communicate clearly and don't need to be reminded three times that something is due Friday.

You're comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly. Renovations have moving parts, unexpected problems and a lot of humans involved. We need someone who can stay organized, think critically and help move things forward.

Most importantly, you understand the difference between excellent customer care and people-pleasing. We want our clients to feel exceptionally well cared for while still protecting project boundaries, company processes and realistic expectations.

Experience & Qualifications:

Strongly preferred:

- Diploma, certificate or degree in Interior Design, Interior Decorating or a related field
- Strong design sense and understanding of colour, materials, finishes and space planning
- Knowledge of residential finish materials such as tile, cabinetry, countertops, paint, lighting, plumbing fixtures and hardware
- Previous administrative, project-coordination or client-facing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative
- Confidence communicating directly with clients, trades and suppliers
- Comfortable learning new software and systems

Considered an asset:

- Experience working in residential renovation, construction or interior design
- Sales or customer-success experience
- CAD or other design-software experience
- Experience with project-management or construction-management software
- Product sourcing or specification experience

Transportation A valid driver's licence and reliable access to your own vehicle are required, as travel to project sites, client meetings, suppliers and showrooms will be part of the role. Approved business-related mileage/travel expenses will be reimbursed.





Hours & Compensation

- Approximately 20–30 hours per week
- $22–$26/hour, depending on experience
- Primarily weekday hours (weekends are rare)
- Combination of office/remote work, client meetings, project-site visits and showroom/supplier appointments throughout the GTA
