Job Overview
Bare Brand is a boutique creative agency based in Toronto, serving clients across North America. We’re a solution-minded team of designers, strategists, developers and marketers who share a passion for clean, thoughtful design that works for today’s digital landscape and supports our clients’ business goals.
After more than 14 years working with brands across technology, apparel, non profit and professional services, we continue to grow our digital practice and the range of experiences we create for our clients.
We’re looking for an Intermediate UX/UI Designer with 3–4 years of experience to join our team. Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, you’ll play a key role in designing thoughtful, intuitive digital experiences — primarily websites and other digital products — from early planning and UX through polished interface design, development handoff and launch.
You’ll also bring UX and UI thinking to other digital touchpoints, including email and CRM programs. While this represents a smaller part of the role, you’ll help create repeatable, scalable email design systems that consider hierarchy, usability, responsiveness and the broader customer journey.
This role is a good fit for someone who can balance user needs, business goals, brand considerations and technical realities, while confidently managing their own work within a collaborative agency environment.
What You'll Do
You’ll work across multiple client projects, collaborating with strategists, designers, developers, project managers and clients to turn business and user needs into effective digital experiences.
You’ll be responsible for
- Translating project briefs, business requirements and user needs into clear UX and design solutions.
- Participating in discovery, research and planning activities to understand audiences, objectives, content and functional requirements.
- Developing sitemaps, information architecture, user flows, wireframes and other UX documentation as required.
- Creating low- and high-fidelity prototypes to explore and communicate digital experiences.
- Designing polished, responsive website interfaces and digital experiences in Figma.
- Applying strong principles of typography, hierarchy, spacing, layout and interaction design.
- Working within existing brand guidelines and design systems, while identifying opportunities to evolve or extend them where appropriate.
- Creating reusable components and contributing to scalable design systems.
- Considering accessibility, responsive behaviour and usability throughout the design process.
- Applying UX/UI principles to email and CRM experiences, including designing flexible email components and templates that can scale across different messages, audiences and stages of the customer journey.
- Considering how email experiences connect with websites, landing pages and other digital touchpoints to create a cohesive customer experience.
- Collaborating with CRM, marketing and development teams to ensure email designs balance brand, usability, content requirements and technical constraints.
- Presenting concepts and design rationale clearly to internal teams and clients, with support from creative leadership where appropriate.
- Incorporating client, team and user feedback thoughtfully while maintaining the integrity of the solution.
- Collaborating closely with developers to ensure designs are practical, clearly documented and implemented as intended.
- Preparing organized Figma files, specifications, assets and documentation for development handoff.
- Reviewing builds and completing design QA, providing developers with clear and actionable feedback.
- Supporting ongoing website and digital experience enhancements after launch.
- Managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of craft and attention to detail.
- Applying skills and experience to move the Agency forward while consistently following Bare Brand processes to ensure work is highly organized, cooperative and delivered on time.
Our projects vary in size and scope, so you may be developing the UX for a new website one week, refining an existing digital experience the next, or helping evolve a client’s email or CRM design system. You should be comfortable shifting between strategic thinking, detailed design work and collaborative problem-solving.
What We're Looking For
- 3–4 years of professional experience in UX, UI, digital product or web design, ideally within an agency, studio or similarly fast-paced environment.
- A degree or diploma in UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design or a related discipline — or equivalent professional experience.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking as well as polished digital design work.
- Expertise in Figma, including components, auto layout, prototyping and organized file structures.
- Experience designing responsive websites and digital interfaces across desktop and mobile.
- A solid understanding of UX principles including information architecture, user flows, interaction patterns and usability.
- Strong visual design fundamentals, including typography, hierarchy, composition and spacing.
- Experience working with design systems and reusable component libraries.
- An understanding of how modular design systems can extend across digital channels, including email and CRM.
- Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles, including WCAG best practices.
- Experience collaborating closely with developers and understanding the considerations involved in bringing designs to life.
- Experience presenting work and explaining design decisions to clients or stakeholders.
- Comfort using AI-assisted tools as part of the design process, with an understanding of where they can improve efficiency, exploration and problem-solving — and where human judgment and craft remain essential.
- The ability to turn sometimes ambiguous requirements into organized, thoughtful solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills,
with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working with designers, developers, strategists, project managers and clients.
Experience designing email, lifecycle or CRM experiences is an asset, but deep platform-specific expertise is not required. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, CMS-driven websites, digital marketing and basic front-end development concepts is also considered an asset.
You’ll Thrive in This Position If You
- Are organized, detail-oriented and take ownership of your work.
- Think beyond how something looks and consider how it needs to work.
- Naturally think in systems — considering how components, patterns and experiences can be reused and scaled rather than designing every touchpoint from scratch.
- Are a strategic and conceptual thinker who can clearly communicate the rationale behind your design decisions.
- Understand that good UX balances user needs, business goals, brand requirements, technical constraints and project scope.
- Can think about the customer experience across touchpoints, rather than treating websites, email and other channels as completely separate experiences.
- Know when to explore multiple solutions and when to make a confident recommendation.
- Can work independently while recognizing when collaboration, feedback or additional context will make the work stronger.
- Are comfortable presenting ideas, receiving critique and refining your work based on feedback.
- Care about the details — from the overall experience down to component behaviour, spacing and file organization.
- Are curious about emerging design tools and technologies, including AI, and thoughtful about how they can improve your workflow and the quality of the work.
- Use AI and emerging technologies responsibly and in accordance with agency and client requirements.
- Are curious about how people use digital experiences and are continually looking for ways to make them simpler and more effective.
- Can comfortably move between different clients, industries and project types.
- Bring curiosity, initiative and a desire to continue developing your craft.
- Enjoy working with a small, collaborative team where everyone contributes to delivering excellent work.
- Have a passion for thoughtful design, digital experiences and, ideally, plants.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000–$85,000 CAD annually, depending on skills and experience. Candidates selected to move forward will be contacted for a screening interview.
