Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Italian Speaking Live-in Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our compassionate team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized, in-home care to a senior client with dementia.
You will be ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your ability to communicate fluently in Italian will help foster trust and understanding with clients and their families. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care and support tailored to each client’s needs, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Assist with medication administration according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements and preferences while maintaining proper hygiene standards.
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning,
laundry, and organizing to promote a protected and comfortable environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Monitor clients’ health status, report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or family members.
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times.
Skills
- Fluent in Italian with excellent verbal communication skills to effectively connect with clients and their families.
- Proven experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments.
- Strong background in patient care, senior care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs.
- Skilled in meal preparation tailored to dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
- Compassionate caregiving approach combined with excellent cleaning and organizational skills.
Pay: $185.00 per day
