Louisville Ladder Corp. (LLC) is looking for a hands-on Junior Maintenance Mechanic to support the daily maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and the facility within our production plant. This is an active shop-floor position, not a desk-based role. The successful candidate will work directly with tools and equipment while completing inspections, preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and general facility maintenance.

This is a junior position for someone with mechanical aptitude, a practical mindset, and a genuine willingness to learn. Previous maintenance experience is an asset but is not required. Training and guidance will be provided as the employee develops knowledge of our machinery, maintenance practices, and safety requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist with the maintenance, adjustment, and repair of production machinery and equipment.
- Monitor production lines, identify basic equipment concerns, and make approved adjustments to help keep operations running safely.
- Complete routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, inspecting, and replacing worn components.
- Use hand and power tools safely to complete assigned repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Assist experienced maintenance employees with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Inspect parts for wear or damage, replace basic components as directed, and report recurring issues to the Plant Manager.
- Complete general building maintenance,



including changing light bulbs, hanging signs, and performing minor facility repairs.
- Fabricate or modify basic parts for repairs when trained and authorized to do so.
- Help maintain an organized inventory of machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Record completed work and clearly communicate equipment concerns and follow-up needs.
- Follow all plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, arc-flash, and hazardous-material requirements.
- Keep tools and maintenance work areas clean, orderly, and protected.
- Respond to changing priorities based on production and equipment needs.
- Support the maintenance team in reducing equipment downtime and keeping production moving safely.
- Complete other hands-on maintenance and facility tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years' experience in maintenance, mechanical repair, manufacturing or another hands-on role is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in learning equipment maintenance and repair.
- Comfortable safely using common hand and power tools.
- Basic welding, electrical or machine-shop experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to read or learn to read basic equipment manuals, schematics and blueprints.
- Good troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, including safety procedures.
- Reliable, safety-conscious and willing to learn from more experienced maintenance employees.
- Able to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of the maintenance and production team.
- A skilled-trade licence or certification is not required for this junior position.

TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS

- Previous WHMIS,



lockout/tagout, scissor-lift or fall-protection training is considered an asset but is not required at the time of hire.
- The successful candidate must be willing and able to complete all company-required safety and equipment training.
- Required training and certification will be arranged by Louisville Ladder based on the employee’s assigned duties.
- The employee must maintain any required certification or authorization and follow all company safety procedures while performing maintenance work.
- The employee will only perform electrical, welding, elevated-work or equipment-related tasks for which they have received the appropriate training and authorization.
