Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Key Account Manager is responsible for driving strategic growth across assigned key retail partners by developing customer strategies, leading Joint Business Planning, and delivering profitable, sustainable growth. This role builds long-term customer partnerships while collaborating cross-functionally to achieve company objectives.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Account Leadership
- Manage assigned key retail partners, including Loblaw, Walmart, Metro, and Quebec grocery accounts (in partnership with broker partners)
- Develop and execute 3-year strategic business plans that achieve annual revenue, profit, distribution and market share objectives
- Build trusted relationships with customer decision makers at all levels including Buyers, Category Managers and Senior Leadership
- Lead annual Joint Business Planning (JBP) processes with assigned customers
- Identify recent distribution, innovation and promotional opportunities to accelerate growth
- Negotiate annual terms, pricing, promotions and customer investments while protecting profitability
Business & Financial Management
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual sales, profit and trade spend objectives
- Manage trade spend budgets to maximize return on investment and support pricing and promotional strategies
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and communicate demand requirements with Supply Chain and Operations
- Analyze POS, Nielsen, retailer scorecards and promotional performance to develop actionable business recommendations
- Develop recommendations that improve assortment, pricing, merchandising and promotional effectiveness
Partner Management · Develop and maintain strong relationships with broker and distributor partners, ensuring alignment on customer priorities, promotional plans, distribution objectives, and execution
- Establish annual objectives,
performance expectations and KPIs with broker partners
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance evaluations
- Provide ongoing training on product, category, pricing, and promotional strategies
· Coordinate account priorities with merchandising partners to ensure execution of pricing, distribution, promotions and planograms
Cross Functional Leadership
· Collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Sales Support to deliver customer initiatives
· Lead commercialization of new product launches with assigned customers
· Coordinate customer-specific packaging, listing requirements and promotional calendars
· Support annual budgeting and forecasting
Market & Customer Development
· Monitor category trends, competitive activity and retailer strategies
· Represent Three Farmers during customer line reviews, industry events and strategic meetings
· Identify opportunities to expand Three Farmers' presence across new banners, categories and merchandising programs
· Share marketplace insights that influence innovation and long-term company strategy
Reporting & Administration
· Deliver monthly business reviews, KPI reporting, and executive customer presentations
· Maintain accurate pricing, promotional plans, customer portals and forecasting tools
· Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Director of Sales
Education and Qualifications:
- University / College Business graduate or equivalent working experience
· 7+ years of progressive account management or business development experience within the Canadian CPG industry, including managing national grocery accounts · Experience working with broker partners and indirect sales organizations
· Experience using POS and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen/LDIA/Circana) to develop customer recommendations and identify growth opportunities
· Demonstrated success negotiating annual customer agreements and Joint Business Plans
· Experience developing and managing trade investment strategies that support profitable growth
· Experience preparing accurate sales forecasts and communicating demand plans cross-functionally
· Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills
· Advanced analytical skills with the ability to transform data into actionable insights
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and retailer portals
· Bilingual (English and French) is considered a strong asset

Work Environment · Remote position based in Canada
· Regular travel throughout Canada is required for customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and periodic in-office collaboration at the Three Farmers’ head office in Saskatoon
