A reputable DAY CARE is currently looking for a Cook: or ready to learn prepares safe, nutritious meals and snacks for children while managing kitchen sanitation and food allergies. A safe, calm school environment. Daytime hours, no evenings and weekends required.

Core Responsibilities

· Meal Preparation: Cook lunch, and help with preparation of morning and afternoon snacks suited for young children

· Menu Planning: Follow 5 weeks Preset Menu, and make suggestions as needed.

· Allergy Management: Strictly track and accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, and special medical or cultural diets.

· Kitchen Sanitation: Wash and sterilize dishes, sanitize prep counters, sweep/mop floors, and manage garbage.

· Inventory & Shopping: Monitor food and supply stocks, inspect deliveries, and submit grocery orders within budget.

· Compliance: Follow local public health regulations, track food/fridge temperatures,



and maintain kitchen logs.

· Work cooperatively: with and lead a team of 2 - 3 other kitchen helpers

Qualifications & Requirements

· Experience: 1+ years of cooking or food service experience, ideally inside a licensed childcare or school setting.

· Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certificate (and up-to-date immunizations/TB test where required).

· Background Check: Clear Vulnerable Sector Check or criminal reference check.

· Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 41.25 per week
