Overview

We're looking for a reliable and flexible Kitchen Hand / Cook to join our team at Elk Lake Wilderness Resort!

The primary focus of this position will be assisting with kitchen duties, food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. There may also be opportunities to assist with some guest-facing responsibilities, such as serving, processing payments, answering phones, helping customers, and assisting in the office when needed.

Hours will vary depending on the season, resort occupancy, meal bookings, and business needs. We're looking for someone who is flexible, dependable, and willing to take on additional hours during busy periods.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety in their work and is willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and meal service
- Prepare and serve meals for resort guests
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment and work areas
- Help with food and kitchen supply organization
- Serve guests and process payments when needed




- Answer phones and assist guests with basic questions
- Assist with office and general resort duties as needed
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Work as part of a small team and help wherever needed

Qualifications
- Kitchen, cooking, restaurant, or food service experience is an asset
- Food Handler certification is an asset
- Smart Serve certification is an asset
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
- Friendly and comfortable interacting with guests
- Able to multitask and work in a busy environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Willing to take on additional hours during busy periods
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to our Elk Lake location
- Comfortable with physical kitchen duties

Pay: From $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
