Permanent THE POSITION The Safety Learning team, part of Safety & Operational Excellence (OE), supports operational excellence across Keyera by ensuring workers have the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to perform their work safely and effectively. Through strong partnerships with Operations, we promote a consistent approach to learning, competency, and workforce development across the organization. Reporting to the Learning Team Lead, the Learning Advisor, Central Region is a key operational partner responsible for supporting facilities within the Central Region, including AEF, LI Terminals and Pipelines, and U.S. assets. This role works closely with facility leadership and front-line workers to understand operational needs, identify competency gaps, and implement practical learning and development solutions.

Success in this role requires a strong operational mindset, the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization, and a visible presence in the field. The Learning Advisor helps drive consistency across Keyera by supporting competency management, validation programs, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance workforce capability and operational performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Partnership & Site Support

- Build strong relationships with facility leadership, supervisors, validators, and workers to understand operational challenges and learning needs.
- Maintain a regular presence at facilities to support learning initiatives,



gain operational insight, and ensure learning solutions align with the realities of the work environment.
- Act as a trusted advisor to facility teams on competency, workforce development, and learning-related matters. Partner with Operations to identify competency gaps, workforce risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Competency & Workforce Development
- Support facilities in maintaining competency programs that enable workers to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
- Develop and maintain competency profiles, training plans, and learning pathways that align with operational requirements. Collaborate with subject matter experts and operational leaders to ensure learning content and competency expectations remain relevant and effective.

Validation Program Leadership
- Support and strengthen facility validation programs to ensure consistent application of competency requirements across Keyera.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to facility validators.
- Identify opportunities to improve validation practices, efficiency, and effectiveness. Conduct validations as required to support business needs.

Learning Program Coordination & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate training activities and maintain accurate competency records within the Competency Management and Development System (CMDS).
- Monitor training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on operational feedback and business needs. Facilitate learning discussions with facility leadership to align priorities and share leading practices across regions.





Governance & Compliance
- Ensure learning and competency programs support regulatory, corporate, and operational requirements.
- Maintain training documentation, competency records, and learning resources, including SharePoint and CMDS content.
- Generate and analyze reports to support compliance, decision making, and workforce planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Post-secondary education or certification in a related field; trade certification, Power Engineering certification, or relevant operational discipline.
- 5 years' experience in oil and gas operations, maintenance, terminal operations, pipelines, or a related industrial setting.
- Experience supporting competency, workforce development, learning, or training programs.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with leadership and front-line workers.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to balance operational priorities and long-term workforce development needs.
- Experience with CMDS, learning management systems, or competency management systems is considered an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract)
