Licensed Funeral Director - Must be a Licensed Funeral Director or Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer.

E.J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Directors, one of Winnipeg’s oldest family-owned funeral homes, is looking for a compassionate and professional Licensed Funeral Director to join our team.

What You'll Do

· Meet with families and guide them through funeral, memorial, burial and cremation arrangements.

· Coordinate visitations, ceremonies, graveside services, transfers and other service details.

· Prepare required documentation, permits, death registrations, obituaries and related paperwork.

· Coordinate with clergy, celebrants, cemeteries, crematoriums, hospitals, care homes and other service providers.

· Direct and assist with funeral services, visitations, processions and committals.

· Care for the deceased with professionalism, dignity and respect.

· Assist with transfers as required.

· Maintain accurate records, schedules and service documentation.

· Participate in the weekday and weekend on-call rotation.

· Perform embalming, dressing, casketing and preparation duties as required based on licensing and qualifications.

· Support the funeral home team with day-to-day operations.

What We're Looking For

· Licensed Funeral Director or Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer.

· Valid driver's licence.





· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Compassionate and professional approach when working with families.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy setting.

· Comfortable using computers and completing administrative tasks.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.

· Availability for some evenings, weekends and on-call responsibilities.

· Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs.

French is an asset but not required.
