Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery is looking for an experienced and passionate Prep Cook / Line Cook to join our team in a full-time, year-round position.
We take pride in the food we prepare and serve from our kitchens and are looking for someone who shares that same pride. The ideal candidate has previous experience working in a busy kitchen, enjoys food preparation, can take direction well and is able to stay organized and multitask during busy periods.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with our kitchen team to prepare food for daily service
- Prepare ingredients and menu items according to our recipes and standards
- Work the line during service as required
- Maintain quality and consistency of food being prepared and served
- Properly store and label food items at appropriate temperatures
- Rotate stock following established procedures
- Monitor and restock kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Keep prep areas and workstations clean and organized throughout the shift
- Follow proper food handling and food safety procedures
- Clean and sanitize kitchen and food preparation areas
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties
- Help other members of the kitchen team when needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of cook or commercial kitchen experience
- FOODSAFE certification
- Able to read and follow standardized recipes
- Positive understanding of proper food handling procedures
- Able to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks
- Reliable and able to work well as part of a team
- Able to take direction and follow instructions
- Full-time, year-round availability
- Weekend availability is required
- Flexible availability as shifts may include early mornings and evenings
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
