About the Position An active and independent woman is seeking a reliable, experienced and conscientious full-time live-in housekeeper to assist with the day-to-day care and upkeep of her homes.

The homeowner spends time at multiple residences in Ontario and Florida. The successful candidate will primarily work in Ontario, with regular travel to the Cottage Country residence during the spring, summer and fall seasons being an essential part of the position.

The homeowner is fully independent and does not require personal care or property management. She is looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is able to work independently, and can ensure that the home is consistently clean, tidy, organized and well cared for.

The position includes housekeeping, laundry, simple meal preparation, dinner preparation and cleanup, household errands, grocery shopping, dog care and driving.

The ability and willingness to travel to Florida is an asset but is not a requirement. Candidates who are unable to travel outside Canada will still be considered.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping & Household Upkeep

- Maintain the home in a consistently clean, tidy and organized condition
- Daily housekeeping and general tidying
- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and dusting
- Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
- Changing and making beds
- Changing and laundering towels and linens
- Deep cleaning as required
- Seasonal cleaning
- Keeping closets, cupboards and household areas neat and organized
- Ensuring residences are clean and ready for the homeowner’s arrival
- Keeping the home looking cared for and orderly on an ongoing basis

Laundry & Clothing Care

- Washing, drying, folding and putting away laundry
- Ironing as required
- Changing and laundering bed linens and towels
- Taking appropriate care with delicate clothing and household linens
- Keeping linen closets organized

Meal Preparation The homeowner is not looking for a skilled chef. The successful candidate should be comfortable preparing simple, healthy home-cooked meals.

Responsibilities include

- Preparing dinner on regular working days
- Assisting with simple meal preparation and planning
- Grocery shopping and putting groceries away
- Keeping the kitchen clean and organized
- Preparing food in advance when appropriate
- Cleaning the kitchen and dining area after dinner
- Washing dishes and ensuring the kitchen is clean and tidy at the end of the workday

Errands & Household Tasks The housekeeper should be comfortable handling errands and practical household tasks as directed by the homeowner, including:

- Grocery shopping
- Picking up dry cleaning
- Pharmacy and prescription pickups
- Mailing and shipping packages
- Returns and exchanges




- Purchasing household supplies
- Receiving deliveries
- Other reasonable household errands as requested

The successful candidate should be comfortable taking direction, completing tasks independently and using good judgment. Dog Care The household has two dogs, and comfort with dogs is essential.

Responsibilities include

- Feeding the dogs and providing fresh water
- Daily walks and exercise
- Letting the dogs outside as required
- Cleaning dog bowls, bedding and designated areas
- Bathing/washing the dogs as needed
- Ensuring the dogs receive appropriate care when the homeowner is away
- Transporting the dogs when required
- Accompanying the homeowner and dogs between residences

Driving & Vehicle A valid driver’s licence and clean driving record are required. A vehicle will be provided by the homeowner for work-related transportation.

The vehicle may be used for:

- Grocery shopping and errands
- Transportation of the dogs
- Household-related appointments and pickups
- Driving between residences when required for work
- Other work-related transportation requested by the homeowner

The vehicle is provided for work purposes only and is not available for the employee’s personal use. The vehicle must remain at the residence on the employee’s days off and may not be taken or used for personal purposes unless specifically authorized by the homeowner.

Travel Requirements

Regular travel to the Cottage Country residence is mandatory during the spring, summer and fall seasons.

The successful candidate must be comfortable spending periods of time at the Cottage Country residence and travelling between the Ontario residences as the homeowner’s schedule requires.

The position requires flexibility regarding the location of work during these seasonal periods.

Florida Travel The ability and willingness to travel to Florida is an asset, but is not a requirement.

The homeowner may spend time in Florida and may occasionally choose to have the housekeeper accompany her and assist with household responsibilities while there.

A candidate’s inability to travel outside Canada will not disqualify them from consideration. Candidates who are able to travel internationally may have additional opportunities to accompany the homeowner when appropriate.

All work-related travel expenses will be covered.

Previous experience working in a private household is an asset.

- Previous professional housekeeping experience
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
- Strong employment references
- Experience with laundry and general household cleaning
- Comfortable with dogs
- Comfortable preparing simple meals
- Willing and able to travel regularly to Cottage Country during the spring, summer and fall
- Able to work independently
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ability to travel to the United States is an asset, but not required

Living Arrangements This is a live-in position, with private accommodation provided.

The successful candidate will have accommodation at the residence where they are working. The position will involve periods of time at the Cottage Country residence during the spring, summer and fall seasons.

The position is intended to be a long-term arrangement with a professional, respectful and mutually comfortable working relationship.

Compensation & Benefits
