We are looking for a Hot tub / Maintenance technician

Job Status: 30 - 40 hours per week, can include weekends

This position is seasonal from ~ November 15th to April 15th. It is ideal for someone looking to work / experience a ski season at Big White Ski Resort.

Ideal applicant would live at Big White for the winter or have reliable transportation. Staff accommodation is limited, so applicants that already have accommodation confirmed is a plus.

Keeping our vacation rental properties and facilities in great working order are critical to the day-to-day operation of Okanagan Premier.

The role requires a reliable and dedicated individual with initiative and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a trade or basic handyman repair, painting and pool/hot tub maintenance.

What will I be doing?

- Water balancing and chemistry of hot tubs in vacation rentals (training provided)
- Resolve and Complete work orders / tickets in a timely manner
- Respond to requests and provide exceptional customer service to our guests.
- Assist cleaners and other team members with maintenance related tasks.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs including:
- Wifi and smart home issues

- Appliance troubleshooting

- Heating troubleshooting

- General plumbing issues

- Other common household repairs

- Hot tub maintenance

- Furniture repairs
- Swapping out lightbulbs, batteries and smoke detectors.

- Shoveling snow (when necessary)
- Inspecting, assessing, and addressing guest maintenance requests





- Posting notices to properties
- Removing trash and recycling from properties and taking to the transfer station
- Working with office and other maintenance staff on larger maintenance projects
- On-site guest and owner communication
- Work on small renovation projects for our clients
- Assisting with transporting employees throughout the day

What are we looking for?

- Completion of High School diploma
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in related field
- Own a up-to-date smart phone that can be used for work
- Experience using a work ticketing system (CMMS) or similar - or ability to learn
- Ability to work unsupervised with excellent time-management and problem-solving skills
- Available to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
- Knowledge of pool & hot tub operations and chemicals is a plus
- Working knowledge of basic household carpentry, plumbing and electrical is a plus
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organized and detail oriented with thorough follow up skills
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and other programs an asset
- Well-versed in sound occupational health and safety practices

You must be legally eligible to work in Canada. We are unable to assist you in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

You must have a class 5 BC driver’s license with clean driving abstract
