The Opportunity

As a Manufacturing Engineer at AGI Swift Current, you will cover a broad spectrum of engineering work including design updates to our product lines, lean initiatives, research & development and troubleshooting production issues. Our fast-paced setting means most projects will only last 2-6 weeks from inception to implementation. This role is highly cross-functional and involves working closely with the Purchasing, Production, and Sales departments requiring strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.




- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Understand and follow OH&S; policies and procedures and foster a culture of safety and respect.
- Other tasks, duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T).
- 1-2 years relevant experience in engineering with manufacturing industry
- Experience in mechanical design and metal fabrication process
