Position Overview The Yard Crew Member is an ambassador of the marina and acts as the liaison between patrons, and Hindson Marina Inc. Yard employees are responsible for all yard and ground maintenance, docks and buildings on the property. Seasonal duties may include Spring Launch, Fall Haul-outs, block and trailer boats, shrink wrapping, shrink wrap removal, buffing & waxing, power-washing and acid washes.

Essential Job Functions

- · Follow all Marina policies and procedures (e.g., health and safety, environmental, time off)
- Strive to meet Marina’s customer service standards
- · Preserve a safe work environment by removing hazardous material throughout the marina
- · Provide exceptional friendly and professional customer service to all marina patrons by interacting with them in a personable manner to guarantee a pleasant and safe stay
- · Watch for and alert people of dangerous situations
- · Assist with repairing harbor area, public restrooms, shower facilities and rentals




- · Assist with constructing and maintaining docks
- · Assist with pump outs
- · Drive and tow boats when required
- · Assist with buffing & waxing boats when required
- · Assist with shrink wrapping boats
- · Perform acid washes
- · Block and trailer boats
- · Basic experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and welding is an asset (certifications required)
- · or AZ license is an asset
- · Perform other duties as assigned by your manager or delegate

Job Requirements:

- · Available to work flexible days and hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Highschool Diploma required
- Must have 1 year experience as a general laborer in an outdoor environment
- Experience in the marine or similar industry an asset
- · Ability to swim and tread water for two minutes is an asset
- · Boat handling and knowledge of nautical terminology or the ability to learn quickly
- Must have experience with hand and power tools
- · Must be open to and able to work at heights (certification required)
- · Experience with yard & maintenance equipment, trucks, front end loader, marine fork-lift, tractor, marine travel lift, power washer, chain saw an asset
- · Experience with automotive, truck/ coach, heavy equipment, motorcycle and powersports an asset
- CSA approved Safety Shoes

- Robust verbal and written communication skills
- · Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy

Licenses and Certifications





- · Possession of a valid Small Engine Repair Certificate an asset
- · Must have a valid G license and clean driver’s abstract
- · Must have a valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card
- · Possession of an A or AZ license is an asset
- · Current Forklift Certification an asset
- · Travel Lift Certification an asset
- · Current working at heights certification as asset
- · Experience operating skid steers and other heavy equipment an asset
- · Valid First Aid and CPR Certification an asset
- · Experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and welding is an asset (must have certifications)

Working Conditions

- · Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance
- · Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
- · Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, reach, and pull for extended periods
- · Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
- · Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- · Exposure to varying weather conditions
- · Exposure to loud engine/equipment noise
- · Exposure to fuel odors and hazardous substances

NOTE: This is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
