Company Description Vector Yacht Services Ltd is a full-service marine repair and maintenance facility located at 2244 Harbour Rd in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada. The company provides comprehensive yacht and boat services, including a full haul-out capability for vessels up to 75 feet. Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Summer: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; closed weekends and statutory holidays)

Salary & Benefits

- Wage: $70,000 – 90,000 per year (dependent on qualifications and experience).

Job Summary & Primary Duties

Vector Yacht Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled Marine Technician to perform diagnoses,

maintenance, and repairs on marine vessels at our full-service facility and boatyard in

Sidney. We offer full marine repairs and are certified dealers for Volvo Penta, Yanmar,

Mercury/Mercruiser, Suzuki, and other major brands.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic testing, routine maintenance,



and complex mechanical repairs on marine vessels.
- Service, overhaul, and repair gas and diesel inboard engines, outboard motors, generators, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and marine propulsion systems.
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment safely and proficiently.
- Collaborate with our full Service and Parts Department team and support boatyard operations involving our Travelift.
- Maintain clean work areas, document repair activities, and deliver high-quality technical work for client vessels.

Skill & Qualification Requirements

- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation diploma or equivalent trade training.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of proven mechanical experience/knowledge in a Marine Technician or similar mechanical role.
- Licences & Certifications: Valid Driver’s Licence (required).

Technical & Operational Skills

- Strong mechanical knowledge with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair marine systems.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools for maintenance and
- Experience with brand-specific diagnostics (e.g., Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Mercury/Mercruiser, Suzuki) is a strong asset.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Sidney, BC.

- Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in Canada; relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in marine or mechanical fields is an advantage.
