Job Title: Marketing & Campaign Specialist – Growth & Engagement
Type: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Location: 3701 Danforth Avenue, Scarborough, ON M1N 2G2. This is a fully on-site position.
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $55,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also included.

Chapters in Canada. It was founded in 1945, and the original mission of the charity was to build a school for boys with a disability who could not receive an education in the mainstream school system. The school was called Variety Village.
Variety Village operated as a school until it became a centre of para-sport excellence.
Since the 1970s, Variety athletes and coaches have represented Canada at every summer
Paralympic games. Currently, Variety Village is a 170,000 square foot facility and operates as a fitness centre for the general community as well as offering programs, training and camps for children of all ages and abilities.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Brand & Communications, the Marketing & Campaign Specialist develops and executes integrated marketing campaigns that build awareness, generate leads,
strengthen engagement and support organizational revenue goals.
Working closely with Membership, Programs, Fitness, Fundraising and other departments, this role translates organizational priorities into targeted campaigns that drive membership acquisition and retention, program registration, facility usage and other revenue-generating opportunities.
Using digital marketing, email, CRM, marketing automation and audience insights, the Specialist will help engage and nurture customers throughout their journey — from awareness and consideration through conversion, retention and re-engagement.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Marketing, Growth & Campaigns
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns supporting membership growth,
program registration, facility usage, events and other organizational priorities.
- Partner with Membership, Programs, Fitness and other departments to translate revenue and engagement objectives into targeted marketing campaigns.
- Develop acquisition, conversion, retention, renewal and re-engagement campaigns for key audiences.
- Identify opportunities to increase awareness and uptake of Variety Village memberships,
programs, services and facility offerings.
- Develop campaign messaging, audience strategies, calls to action and channel plans across email, web, digital advertising, social media and print.
- Test and optimize campaigns, messaging, audiences and offers based on performance.
CRM, Customer Journeys & Engagement
- Develop and support customer journeys using Salesforce and related marketing automation tools.
- Create targeted communications that nurture prospective customers from initial interest through registration or membership conversion.
- Support audience segmentation and personalization for prospective members, existing members, program participants, day-pass users, lapsed customers and other priority audiences.
- Work with Membership and other customer-facing teams to strengthen the handoff between marketing-generated leads and sales/conversion activities.
- Develop retention, renewal, re-engagement and cross-promotion opportunities that strengthen customer relationships and lifetime value.
Performance & Revenue Support
- Establish and monitor campaign objectives and key performance indicators, including leads, conversions, registrations, membership growth and attributable revenue where measurable.
- Analyze campaign and customer data and provide recommendations to improve performance.
- Help strengthen the connection between marketing activity, lead generation, customer conversion and organizational revenue goals.
- Prepare campaign performance reporting to support ongoing marketing and organizational planning.
Content & Collaboration
- Develop campaign content for email, web, digital advertising, social media, print and other marketing channels.
- Coordinate email campaigns, landing pages and other conversion-focused communications.
- Collaborate with Communications team members, internal departments and external partners to execute campaigns effectively.
- Ensure marketing materials are accurate, accessible and consistent with Variety Village brand standards.
- Stay informed about marketing trends, digital tools and emerging opportunities.
- Support organizational events and initiatives, including occasional evening or weekend activities as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, business or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant marketing, campaign management or digital marketing experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Experience with CRM, email marketing and marketing automation platforms; Salesforce experience is an asset.
- Understanding of lead generation, customer journeys, audience segmentation, conversion and retention marketing.
- Experience using analytics and campaign data to measure performance and inform decisions.
- Strong writing, editing and marketing communications skills.
- Experience with digital advertising, email marketing, websites and social media.
- Strong project management, organizational and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities in a quick-paced, cooperative environment.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, WordPress, Canva and related marketing tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive communications practices is an asset.
