The Vancouver Pilates Centre (VPC) is looking for a creative and adaptable Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. We’ve been in operation for over 40 years and are looking ahead to another successful 40 years, which is where you come in.
About the role:
Your work will elevate the VPC as a leader in the Pilates industry, and promote the physical and mental advantages of Pilates. You will work closely with the Owner and Operations Manager to generate and implement ideas for educating and inspiring our audiences. This is a newly created position in a tight-knit team with the opportunity to make this role your own.
Key responsibilities:
Content creation and scheduling: Support the planning, curation and creation of written and visual content across all marketing channels. Includes (but is not limited to) creating content, preparing posts for social media, assisting with newsletter preparation, website updates, etc.
Engagement: Engage with our audience online by responding to comments and direct messages. Make connections with our members to share their authentic experiences with Pilates. Support and coordinate events (workshops, pop-ups, member challenges).
Analytics and reporting: Track and report on performance metrics (email opens, link clicks, social media metrics, etc.).
Trend research: Keep up-to-date with trends in the Pilates/fitness industry and develop ideas to leverage these trends to reach our goals. Research and implement social media trends relevant to our audience.
Administrative support: Maintaining a content calendar, tracking deadlines,
organizing assets, researching, and other duties as needed.
Desired skills and experience:
- Minimum of a certificate in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Meta Business Suite, G Suite, website management, CRM tools, email marketing platforms
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation tools
- Proficiency in photography/videography and editing
- Excellent communicator - visual, verbal and written
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
- Effective working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience running ad campaigns (Google, Meta, etc.) (nice to have)
- Knowledge of SEO and/or AI search (nice to have)
Contract hours, compensation and work schedule:
- Compensation: $22/hour plus vacation pay accrued at 4% of wages
- Start date: Immediately
- Work schedule: Initially offered as a permanent part-time position (10-15 hours/week), with potential to increase to 20+ hours/week depending on the candidate/workload. Some flexibility in scheduling is required - primarily Monday to Friday,
with occasional weekends for special events. The schedule will be set in coordination with the Operations Manager
- Location: During the probationary period (3 months), work will be performed at the studio, with the potential for the position to become hybrid after this time

Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
